This year was the best year yet!! On August 16th, 2025, we were able to bless over 800 students with backpacks and school supplies, as well as supply 50 local teachers with “Blessing Baskets” filled with classroom essentials to start the year off right! After Hurricane Helene swept through our region, we knew that it would be extra important this year to help as many families as possible, and we were able to do just that!

This was only made possible because of the generosity of our community, the willingness to serve of over 60 volunteers, and partnerships with the following businesses: ABC Supply Co. Inc., Best Buy Metals Asheville, Board & Brush Asheville, Born to Bend Mental Health and Wellness, Edwards Realty LLC, Family Self-Sufficiency Asheville Housing Authority, Family Support Network of WNC, Hope City Fellowship, Indulge Images, Joshua Brown at New York Life Investments, RHA, Self Help Credit Union, Shared Vision International, and Wal-mart!

Families all over WNC were able to come to an event, have their child pick out their backpack, go “shopping” for their school supplies, and then enjoy fun activities at the community fair held in the gymnasium at the Arthur R. Edington Education & Career Center! Activities included giveaways, art projects, fairy hair, food, bounce houses, personalized baseball cards, photo-booth, games, and more! The weather was wonderful and the joy was palpable. At John McClung Roofing, the only thing that matters more to us than your roof is the people under it. Events like this remind us why!
